Stephenson's Rocket

Working with our regular clients at the Science + Industry Museum in Manchester we were asked to improve the presentation of Stephenson's 'Rocket' for temporary display in the Revolution Manchester hall.

We designed a simple black timber cowl system to cover the brutalist concrete plinth that the engine is mounted on. The cowl was built off-site and then cleanly installed when the museum was closed to the public, minimising any disruption to the venue.
